Jack graduated from Creston High School in 1961 and Drake University in January of 1966.
He has owned M&M Motors and been a car salesman in Creston for over 40 years.
Jack has operated the clock for the boys and girls high school basketball games since the winter of 1972 and announced the home football games since 1980. He has also volunteered at the after-prom games, introduced prom attendees and helped with track meets and was inducted into the inaugural class of the Creston Hall of Fame.
One of the things that Jack is most known for at the games when he is announcing the officials is he says they are from some small town that they are not. He has known many of them for numerous years and they still chuckle when they hear the town he picks. He loves working with them, and the coaches but truly enjoys watching the kids the most.
He is also very active in the community donating to many local school’s yearbooks and activities. He also played Santa for many years at the local nursing home and for the volunteer fire department’s party. Jack is in involved in the United Methodist Church where he has been a member and has taught Sunday school, lay leader and served on numerous committees. He has also very proud to have served on the board of trustees for Greater Regional Health in Creston for 25 years.
Jack and his wife Cheri have been married for 58 years and have three daughters, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
